'Not how we want you to go' Rylan Clark's plea as Strictly finalist dealt crushing blow

Rylan Clark, 33, offered his support to Strictly Come Dancing finalist AJ Odudu, 33, who has suffered a torn ligament in her foot. The emotional star spoke candidly with the It Takes presenter ahead of the BBC final.

She unveiled her bandaged foot to Express.co.uk and other publications during a Strictly press conference earlier this week.

The dancing amateur explained that she and Kai have been unable to rehearse this week due to the ongoing issue.

Rylan urged the amateur dancer to not leave the competition despite her injury.

AJ admitted she is very “frustrated” and “upset” following her show setback.

He commented: “This is what it is all about. That means that if you can’t do anything until 9pm on a Friday night then you don’t do anything until then.

“We want to see you out on that dancefloor. Your health is the most important thing here and I know that Kai [Widdrington] would agree with that.”

The Strictly host continued: “But whatever happens, we really want to see you on that dancefloor.

“I know the country feels the same. This is not the way we want to see you go out.”
