Fast fashion outfit Quiz is a post-lockdown winner as shoppers splash out on flashy outfits

Sales soared at fast fashion outfit Quiz as the end of lockdowns boosted demand for flashy outfits.

Revenues in the six months to September 30 were twice as high as a year earlier as it sold £36million worth of dresses, tops and shoes on the back of increased demand for ‘occasion and dress products’.

But it reported a £1.3million loss during the period compared with a profit of £10.6million last year.

The Glasgow-based brand, focused on party and event ouufits and smart casual clothes, sells online and has 63 stores in the UK.

In the last two months it has returned to pre-pandemic sales levels but warned yesterday any new Covid restrictions could delay its return to profitability.

The new variant has already cancelled a slew of corporate Christmas parties and Quiz said that concerns over Omicron could filter through to its sales.
