‘Amazed’: Mrs Hinch fan shares how to get rid of window condensation – ‘costs 40p a night’

Mrs Hinch – real name Sophie Hinchliffe – is a cleaning influencer who inspires millions to clean their homes. Fans of the guru regularly take to dedicated social media pages to share their own cleaning finds. Posting on the Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips Facebook page, one group member asked for some advice when it came to removing condensation from her windows.

Catherine Lee added: “I have left windows open all year, made no difference. I purchased two dehumidifiers that cost over £200, they help.

“Costs 40p a night to run.”

Sharon Graham said: “Get vents fitted, it’ll keep the condensation away but not make the room really cold.

“Also buy a dehumidifier and let it run to clear condensation.”

Jan Lett commented: “Try turning down the heating, keep boiling water covered, we used paper towels rolled up on the windowsills.

“We changed them when they got soggy. However, in order to prevent it completely you’ll need to get new windows.”

Lily Milsom added: “Yeh keep the heating down if you don’t need it, also make sure to open the windows during the day.

“Any opportunity you get, make sure it’s open, even if it’s only slightly.

“You could also dry to make sure you don’t have an airer of any sort in the room, will create more dampness.”
