A number of outcomes would see the Dutchman confirm his title next time out in Saudi Arabia, which would give him time to enjoy the final race in Abu Dhabi.
If Verstappen wins and claims the fastest lap, Hamilton would have to finish fifth or better to keep the race alive.
Furthermore, if Hamilton fails to score which could be due to something as unlucky as a puncture, Verstappen would only need to finish second to clinch the title.
