'Always described as difficult' Anne Robinson addresses Countdown ‘feud’ with Rachel Riley

Countdown host Anne Robinson took over from Nick Hewer back in June, after he stepped down following a 10-year stint. It has since been claimed that the presenter isn’t getting along with Rachel Riley, 35, and Susie Dent, 57.

The 77-year-old was asked about the reported feud in a new interview with Rachel Johnson, according to Mail Online.

Despite the alleged feud, the presenter had nothing but praise for her co-stars, who she called “brilliant”.

When asked directly about claims of a spat, she said of maths whizz Rachel: “Every time I’m astonished how she does that adding up and subtracting – just seconds, absolutely seconds, amazing.”

Anne later added: “I hope I’m always described as difficult, awkward, tricky, impatient, menopausal, any sort of pejorative, grumpy.”

As well as this, she allegedly complained about her co-star being “too loud” while laughing with the contestants.

Other reports claimed Rachel was ready to leave the show if things don’t improve.

Express.co.uk has contacted a representative for Anne and Channel 4 for comment.

Rachel is currently on maternity leave following the birth of her newborn Noa.
