Home-baked fruit pies were a way of life for Jerry Brimeyer, who grew up on an Iowa farm. Later, when business took him to England, he discovered Cornish pasties, the savory hand pies wrapped in flaky pastry. He’s joined the two at Oggie’s, his addition to DeKalb Market in Brooklyn. He sells assorted pasties and sweet miniature open-faced pies. The pasties, big, well-stuffed baked half-moons ($8 to $10), come with pulled pork; steak and mushrooms; chicken and vegetables; Mediterranean vegetables; ham with cheese and scrambled eggs; among others. The dessert pies ($3.50) include apple, sweet and sour cherry, blueberry, pecan, and banoffee. All are ready to eat and suitable for reheating.
