Simeone at Chelsea

Diego Simeone has seemingly been linked with a switch to the Premier League for eternity.

But for three consective years from 2014 to 2016, Chelsea reportedly made repeated attempts to lure Simeone into leaving Atletico Madrid.

Roman Abramovich had reportedly held meetings with Simeone’s sister, Natalia, who represented him at the time.

However, Atletico eventually won the battle and ended up choosing Antonio Conte in 2016 – arguably the carbon copy of Simeone in football management.

Chelsea have enjoyed huge success in spite of missing out on Simeone, but it sure would have been fun to see the Argentine in the dugout at Stamford Bridge.
