Tucker Carlson says liberal media will NOT probe the motives of Waukesha parade massacre

Tucker Carlson said the liberal media will not probe the motives behind the Waukesha parade massacre because it will prove their woke bail and prison reforms are responsible after it was revealed the suspect was recently released on a $1,000 bail after a domestic dispute.

Liberals are calling to abolishing federal prisons – which would release criminals such as sex traffickers and murderers – and quashing ‘excessive bail’ just a day after Darrell Brooks, 39, drove his red SUV into a Christmas parade, which injured 62 and killed six.

‘The media and local authorities have decided to speak for [Brooks],’ Carlson said on Tuesday.

‘And the main thing they want you to know is that these killings had absolutely nothing to do with the Kyle Rittenhouse verdict just two days before. Nothing whatsoever. The timing is just one of those amazing coincidences.’

Carlson commended the media by saying: ‘This has to do with the [Rittenhouse] verdict. That’s the obvious conclusion. Is it true? Again, we have not confirmed it, but we can be absolutely certain that the national media will spend zero time trying to find out.’

Brooks, a career criminal with a 22-year rap sheet, was free on a $1,000 bail after allegedly punching one of his children’s mother in the face and then running her over with his car.

DailyMail.com obtained copies of his arrest warrant for that incident on Monday which reveals he followed her to a gas station, punched her ‘with a closed fist’ and then ‘ran her over.’

‘So $1,000 for beating and running over a woman? Why? Well, because [Waukesha District Attorney] John Chisholm believes that bail is racist?’ Carlson said on his show on Tuesday.

‘A few years ago, Chisholm acknowledged that letting violent criminals out of jail was certain to cost innocent lives? But he explains, it’s still worth it, because equity.’

Brooks’ bail is now set at $5 million after eight-year-old Jackson Sparks became the sixth victim of the massacre.

Judge Kevin Costello said the sum was ‘extraordinarily high’ for the ‘indigent’ Brooks, but critics pointed out that there was nothing to prevent someone from volunteering to pay the $5 million fee or crowdsource the cash.

That’s what happened with Kyle Rittenhouse, who was on Friday acquitted of murder in August 2020 shootings in Kenosha, Wisconsin, whose bail had been set at $2 million but his supporters crowdfunded the cash.

It was unclear why the judge did not simply deny Brooks bail, given the suspect’s 22-year criminal history and multiple failures to previously showing up in court.

Brooks was being held in custody on Tuesday night and will be held until his next court appearance in January 2022, unless he makes bail.

Carlson then shared a snippet of Black Lives Matter activist Vaum Mayes suggesting Brooks’ actions had something ‘to do with the [Rittenhouse] verdict.’

He suggested the ‘woke’ media are implicated as liberals push for new reforms.

Some people are suggesting Brooks' action is a response to Kyle Rittenhouse's verdict, who was acquitted of all charges last week. Although it is unknown if there's a connection, Carlson said 'we can be absolutely certain that the national media will spend zero time trying to find out'

Trump agreed with Carlson, stating on Sean Hannity’s show: ‘[Brooks] was out on bail. And he was a rough cookie. Looks like they caught him in another act.

‘The good news is he hated Trump, based on early reporting. He should never have been out.’

The former president called it ‘a terrible, terrible situation.’

In addition, critics of the current cash bail system – like controversial representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez – demanded that the process be reassessed.

Tulsi Gabbard, former presidential candidate and former congresswoman for Hawaii, said on Fox News Channel’s Tucker Carlson on Tuesday night: ‘Unless leaders of this country do something to fix the broken system, I am deeply concerned that we will see the horrors like this weekend in Wisconsin continue to play out.

‘There doesn’t seem to be an actual plan. It sounds all warm and fuzzy. Wait until someone comes to threaten their families.’

She condemned the ‘irresponsible and dangerous leadership.’

Brooks was out on bail after he was arrested on November 2 in Milwaukee for hunting down the mother of one of his children at a hotel, then following her in the street with his SUV and running her over in the parking lot of a gas station after she refused to get in his car.

He was arrested and charged with five counts including bail jumping, for having failed to meet the terms of one of his many other sets of bail or probation requirements.

But on November 11, he posted a $1,000 cash bond.

By November 19, he was on the streets again and by November 21, behind the wheel of his Ford again.

After Sunday night’s massacre, Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office issued a statement conceding the bail that was set was ‘inappropriately low.’

Brooks has officially been charged with five counts of first-degree intentional homicide, according to the Waukesha County District Attorney’s Office.

But during his court hearing on Tuesday, prosecutors said a sixth victim, a child, has also died. Family members identified him as Jackson Sparks.

Prosecutors said they will consider a sixth homicide charge due to the little boy’s death.

The court heard Tuesday that Brooks had multiple previous violent convictions, a 22-year criminal history, charges against him filed in three states and lengthy custody time in Georgia.

He had repeatedly failed to show up for court hearings, and a $5million cash bail was suggested for Brooks – whom the court heard was insolvent.

Judge Kevin Costello granted the district attorney’s request for the $5million bail, saying the unusually high amount was warranted due to the nature of the alleged crimes and Brooks’ ‘extraordinary’ history of breaking the law and ignoring court orders.

‘I have not seen anything like this in my very long career,’ Costello said.
