Netflix is breaking out the biggest stars to celebrate the end of 2021. This month, the streamer is releasing some huge new movies and shows, including a power player for awards season, a new season of Emily in Paris, and what could be the most star-studded film of the year. We can hardly wait for December to begin!
Right off the bat, Netflix is releasing The Power of the Dog on Dec. 1, a neo-western with method actor Benedict Cumberbatch leading the drama. Jane Campion’s new drama follows a rancher who must adjust his life when his brother brings home a new wife and her adolescent son. The Best Picture potential also stars IRL couple Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons.
The streamer has the best Christmas gift for you this year: Emily in Paris Season 2, which drops on Dec. 22. The epic camera phone case will return for more chocolate croissants, Instagramming, and love triangles as Emily flounces into a sophomore season with returning stars Lucas Bravo, Camille Razat, Ashley Park, and more.
And to round out the month, Netflix is releasing the uber star-studded Don’t Look Up, Adam McKay’s much-anticipated sci-fi comedy with leads Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence. The pair star as two astronomers who discover a giant asteroid heading right towards Earth — although no one believes them. The cast includes pretty much every celeb you can think of, including Timothée Chalamet, Ariana Grande, Jonah Hill, Cate Blanchett, Meryl Streep, Ron Perlman, Tyler Perry, Kid Cudi, and more.
