‘I’ll wear it in Congress’ Trump vows sensational return as he gets taekwondo black belt

The World Taekwondo Headquarters, or Kukkiwon, has awarded the former US President a 9th Dan Black belt. The level is the highest that is attainable by a practitioner of this martial art. World Taekwondo Federation president Lee Dong-seop visited Mr Trump at his home in Mar-a-lago in Palm Beach, Florida this weekend to give him his black belt.

Mr Lee said: “I heard that Donald Trump is highly interested in taekwondo.”

Mr Trump responded and said: “It is my pleasure and honour to receive this honorary certificate.

“Taekwondo is a great martial art for protecting oneself in these times.”

As the news broke people were quick to mock Trump over the incident.

Mr Rittenhouse had fatally shot two men during a racial justice protest and wounded another.

In an emailed statement Mr Trump wrote: “Congratulations to Kyle Rittenhouse for being found INNOCENT of all charges.

“It’s called being found NOT GUILTY.

“And by the way, if that’s not self-defense, nothing is!”

“This trial was nothing more than a WITCH HUNT from the Radical Left.

“They want to PUNISH law-abiding citizens, including a CHILD, like Kyle Rittenhouse, for doing nothing more than following the LAW.”

In a Wisconsin court on Friday jurors found Mr Rittenhouse not guilty on all charges.

The charges levelled against him were two counts of homicide and one count of attempted homicide for wounding a third man.

He was also charged with two counts of recklessly endangering safety in protests marred by arson, rioting and looting.

The protests in question happened on August 25, 2020 in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
