Cleaning: Mrs Hinch fans share clever hack to get rid of cigarette smoke – 'absorbs smell'

Claire Weaver commented: “You are very brave buying a smoker’s home, it’s not for the faint hearted!”

Claire went on to advise: “If you have wooden floorboards I’d say they’d be full of tar, best to seal them then re-floor too, along with getting all the walls back to plaster, washing every wall, ceiling, surface etc. at least five times.”

Emma Louise Jones said: “If it’s in carpets or any fabrics that have absorbed the smoke, then you will struggle to remove it and better replacing if you want rid.”

In Emma’s experience, the smoke in her home had a “lingering” smell regardless of the products she used.
