AJ Odudu snubs Strictly partner Kai Widdrington 'Not going to kiss you'

AJ Odudu and her Strictly Come Dancing partner Kai Widdrington have set tongues wagging with their “almost kiss” moments on the BBC One competition. The pair were first up on Saturday night to perform the Waltz to Edelweiss from The Sound of Music. However, AJ told Kai she wasn’t going to kiss him ahead of their Musicals Week performance.

The pair, who were “gutted” to be at the bottom of the Strictly leaderboard last week, have been spending the past week preparing for Musicals Week.

In a montage ahead of their dance AJ said: “The public saw we were in danger and they literally came to our rescue and I want to work extra hard to make sure we don’t see ourselves there again.”

Kai added: “We are through to Musicals Week and we are dancing the Waltz to Edelweiss from The Sound of Music and it’s basically a love story, let’s get to work.”

The duo was then filmed dancing in the countryside to The Sound of Music’s theme song and Kai tried to go in for a kiss.

But AJ said: “Kai, I’m not going to kiss you.”

Following their dance, the couple were given the highest Waltz score of the series so far as they scored 38.

A tearful AJ said: “It’s just amazing being able to open the show on Musicals Week in front of all of these people, everyone who’s supported us so far, it makes me realise how much I am enjoying this whole experience.

The presenter said she wanted to do well in Musicals Week as a way of thanking everyone who kept her and Kai in the competition.

She added: “Last week we were so vulnerable and to have everyone at home supporting us and taking the time to believe in us was amazing.

Tilly Ramsay could be the next celebrity contestant eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing, according to the bookies.

Tilly, who is partnered up with Nikita Kuzmin, has been placed at 6/4 for exiting the show this weekend.

However, Dan Walker is expected to get kicked off before her, with his exit odds being at 5/4.

Rose Ayling-Ellis and Giovanni Pernice already have one hand on the Glitterball Trophy, according to the latest odds from Ladbrokes.
