Black Friday is fast approaching, and news about which sales to expect are rolling in from various retailers, including Nintendo. There won’t be any big discounts on Nintendo’s new Switch OLED this holiday season. Shipping issues and chip manufacturing delays have made the new system more difficult to track down than its predecessor. If you’re in the market for one, it’s important to buy early.

Nintendo isn’t letting down Black Friday shoppers, though. There will be an array of holiday deals for the 2021 season which include a Switch bundled with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and $20 discounts on a variety of “select games.”
Best Nintendo Deal: $300 Switch Bundle
Walmart
The deal on the Switch console — which is the original Switch, not the company’s new OLED model — starts on Nov. 21 and bundles a Switch, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and a three-month Switch Online Individual Membership for $300 (a $70 savings). The deal will be available at “participating retailers” and “while supplies last.”
It’s also worth noting that the Switch Online membership, which you need to play games like Mario Kart or Smash Bros Ultimate online, will auto-renew after the three months are up. Rates for the subscription start at $4 a month when going on a month-to-month basis, while prepaying for three months is $8. Prepaying for a full year is $20.
Some game deals have already dropped. Here are some recently discounted Switch games. A number of notable games will also be discounted from Nov. 21 through Nov. 27.
Games Deals Available Now
$40 Nintendo Switch games starting Nov. 21
At $40, that’s a $20 markdown on these popular Switch titles. According to Nintendo, savings on games will run from Nov. 21 through Nov. 27 at various retailers while supplies last. However, as deals emerge, we’ll go ahead and post them. A full list of game deals can be found at Nintendo’s site, but here are some highlights:
- New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe
- Super Mario Maker 2
- The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening
- Splatoon 2
According to their ad scans, Walmart and Target will also have a selection of Switch games on sale for as low as $14 for their Black Friday events. Both sales will start next week (Walmart Nov. 21, Target Nov. 22).
