15,000 F1 fans disagree with FIA as Lewis Hamilton loses to Max Verstappen in appeal

Just 3,026 people – 16 per cent of the total vote – believe the FIA’s decision not to penalise the 24-year-old was the correct decision.

The other question in the survey asked whether the win at Interlagos was the best of Hamilton’s career, to which 75 per cent (13,547) said yes compared to 25 per cent (4,612) who said no.

The FIA released a statement revealing their decision, concluding: “The Stewards find, in their sole discretion, that the Footage is not significant.”

The decision cannot be appealed.
