Queen buys royal staff £6 Christmas Puddings from Tesco – ‘shows her thoughtfulness'

Each year at Christmas time, the Queen reportedly buys every staff member a very unique present. Over the years, the Queen has opted to rely on this same trusted gift. Each year, the Queen apparently gives a Christmas pudding as a Christmas gift to each of her loyal staff.

But now it has been reported the Queen now instead opts for £6 Tesco Christmas puddings.

It will be a tough Christmas for Her Majesty having lost her husband Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, earlier this year.

Philip died aged 99 on Friday, April 9.

This year will be the first Christmas Her Majesty is spending without her husband of 73 years.

Previously, The Queen reacted with sheer joy and hilarity after Meghan Markle gave her a singing hamster toy for Christmas.

The Daily Star reported the Monarch was so happy with the present she burst out laughing, before remarking: “It can keep my dogs company.”

A source said: “Meghan bought a little hamster that sings with a little rope for Her Majesty.

“It was so funny, especially when the corgis tried to take hold of the toy.”

“I was thinking, ‘Gosh, what should I give her?'”

“I thought back to what I would give my own grandparents,” said Kate.

“And I thought, ‘I’ll make her something,’ which could have gone horribly wrong. But I decided to make my granny’s recipe of chutney.”

Kate continued: “I was slightly worried about it, but I noticed the next day that it was on the table.

“I think such a simple gesture went such a long way for me and I’ve noticed since she’s done that on lots of occasions and I think it just shows her thoughtfulness, really, and her care in looking after everybody.”
