Jen Shah’s fraud case to be explored in new Hulu documentary

“The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star Jen Shah’s legal scandal will be the subject of a new Hulu documentary, “The Housewife & the Shah Shocker.”

ABC News’ film will center on Shah’s March arrest and accusations that she ripped off hundreds of people in a nationwide telemarketing scam that targeted the elderly.

Shah, 48, and her assistant Stuart Smith face charges of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and conspiracy to commit money laundering, to which they have pleaded not guilty as they await trial in March 2022.

The documentary will explore the allegations as well as the lavish lifestyle that Shah has portrayed on “RHOSLC.” It will include interviews from her childhood friend Cherise Newson, her aunt Lehua Vincent and “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” alum Dana Wilkey, the latter of whom previously appeared in the “Housewife & the Hustler” doc about Erika Jayne and her estranged husband, Tom Girardi.

In addition, two alleged victims, Penny Joe and Yvonne Marie, will share their stories about how they were scammed by Shah’s trickery.

Shah’s former designer Koa Johnson — who made headlines this year after saying he felt “traumatized” working for her — will share his side of the story as well.

The announcement follows the most recent episodes of “RHOSLC,” in which the cast reacted to the shocking news of Shah’s arrest.

Shah and her co-stars were about to leave for a cast trip to Vail, Colo., when she hurriedly left after telling them that her husband, Sharrieff Shah Sr., was suffering from “internal bleeding.”

Just 12 minutes after Shah departed, however, members of law enforcement— including Homeland Security and the New York Police Department — arrived, confusing many of the women.

The “RHOSLC” ladies decided to continue on the cast trip, and a few hours later, news broke of Shah’s arrest.

“You’ve been the closest to her over the last three months. What the hell is going on?” Whitney Rose asked, to which Lisa Barlow responded, “I never talk to her about business. She’s ambiguous about it.”

Heather Gay also explained that she never completely understood what Shah did for a living nor how she could afford such an extravagant lifestyle.

“The Housewife & the Shah Shocker” begins streaming Monday, Nov. 29, on Hulu. “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.
