‘It was a tense morning’ Sue Perkins left Mel Giedroyc 'livid' after meeting went awry

Mel Giedroyc revealed on The Jonathan Ross Show that she was once left unimpressed by Sue Perkins when her broadcasting partner failed to show up on time for a meeting at ITV. The stars admitted that they had been caught up in “a couple of snips” over the years, but were quick to insist that their disagreements have never escalated into full-blown “rows”.

Comedy duo Mel, 53 and Sue, 52, appeared on The Jonathan Ross Show this week to promote their new comedy series Hitmen: Reloaded.

While discussing their new show, the stars opened up about arguments they had experienced in the past.

When Jonathan, 61, asked the pair if they had ever fallen out, they replied candidly.

“We’ve had a couple of snips,” Mel admitted, with Sue adding: “Mild skirmishes. Not rows. Maybe a dry eye-roll.”

At this point, Mel decided to share one story in particular that tested their friendship, after her pal Sue potentially jeopardised a meeting the two were due to attend at the ITV studios.

She hit back: “There was more than that, mate. Actually in this very building – in reception.

“We arranged to meet, let’s say it was 10am. I was there 20 minutes to – always early.

“This was a tense morning, I think we were due to have a meeting with somebody about something,” Mel continued.

Meanwhile, Sue recently won the hearts of reality TV fans when she appeared as ‘Dragon’ on ITV’s The Masked Singer, which she described as “a really fab show”, adding that she “loved it”.

At this point, presenter Jonathan turned to his other guests, which included David Walliams and Louis Theroux, to ask if they would ever take part.

David pointed out that while he didn’t believe he could sing, a “lack of talent” had never stopped him before.

Meanwhile, documentary presenter Louis admitted that while he “hasn’t got a brilliant voice”, the journalist does “like to think he’s a good dancer” and even suggested he should go on Strictly.
