She attended the Titanic Hotel in Liverpool for the event, which was merely a few miles away from the Liverpool Women’s Hospital that was targeted by a bomber one day later in a suspected terrorist attack.
Carol had previously received treatment at another nearby children’s hospital in Liverpool, Alder Hey, as a toddler for a “life-changing operation”.
She revealed that her brother Anton had been a regular there as a child too, and had endured 24 operations in total as a result of a “severe cleft lip and palate”.
“[I] am eternally grateful to this great city for all of the love given to us,” the star wrote on social media.
