Police alleged Woodward had admitted to shaking Matthew which she strongly denied but was subsequently arrested for battery of a child.
Matthew died when his life support machine was turned off after suffering a major brain haemorrhage.
Woodward went on to face a charge of first-degree murder before being found guilty of second-degree murder by the court.
This carried a 15-year minimum prison sentence but at a post-conviction relief hearing, her conviction was reduced to involuntary manslaughter.
Woodward spent a total of 279 days in prison for Matthew’s death.
