Carol Vorderman details how ex-husband knew she was ‘gone for good’ during split

Carol Vorderman, 60, opened up about her marriage to former international rugby league player Christoper Mather during Saturday’s edition of her radio show. The broadcaster explained how the absence of one item in the house made him realise she was “gone for good”.

Speaking about treasured possessions and what memories they brought back, Carol confessed: “I shouldn’t tell this story…”

She continued: “This was when I was married [for] the first time very briefly.

“And I left… Doesn’t matter – we were babies back then.

“And I left and then I went back and then I left again and my then-husband said to my mum, ‘I know she’s gone for good because the teddy bear’s gone’.”

She added: “Had my career not taken off like it did, Paddy and I probably wouldn’t have split up.”

Last week, Carol teased having a new “man” in her life as she boasted a new addition to her life on Instagram.

She joked she had found a “new man” as she shared pictures of a grey 4x4 on Friday.

Carol wrote: “Telling you this… I’ve now got a MAN in my life @mantruckandbus. Grey, 4×4, VAN LIFE… ha.”
