Switch to this BT, Sky and Virgin Media rival and you'll get your broadband for FREE

It’s not often you get something for nothing but that’s exactly what one BT and Virgin Media rival is offering. Community Fibre has just announced its Black Friday sale event with anyone switching to the firm’s speedy broadband getting a whole six months without paying a penny.

Even when that free connection ends things are still very reasonable with Community Fibre offering plans from just £22.95 per month – that’s fro 75Mbps download speeds.

If you want something faster then there’s 200Mbps for £27.50 per month and even the firm’s one-gigabit technology only costs £49 per month – that’s around £10 cheaper than both BT and Virgin.

As a guide to what speeds you might need, a full HD blockbuster movie takes around 12 minutes on a 75Mbps connection whilst the same film can arrive on your TV in just 40 seconds if you upgrade to a 1Gbps plan.

If you are hoping to join Community Fibre there is one big catch. The firm doesn’t cover the same large areas of the country as its more-established rivals.

As it stands, CommunityFibre covers over 300,000 premises across London.

Looking ahead, CommunityFibre wants to connect more than one million households within London by the end of 2023. These additional households will be spread throughout the capital city. Most recently, Community Fibre expanded its services into the London Borough of Sutton.

Community Fibre CEO Graeme Oxby said: “With many of us now working from home, remote schooling, streaming TV or turning to online gaming for entertainment – and actually using a mix of all of these at once – the demand for fast broadband is ever increasing.

“Running our networks and ensuring that more and more residents in London are able to connect to the outside world is of the utmost importance to us. We believe that everyone deserves better broadband, therefore our packages are affordable with no surprise price rises throughout any of our contracts. Our approach will be crucial to help build a more inclusive digital future across London communities.”
