Jamie Lee Curtis would love to voice the devil in new ‘Exorcist’ series

The OG “Scream Queen” Jamie Lee Curtis wants to add one more legendary horror franchise to her repertoire.

Curtis, 62, said she hopes to voice the devil in the upcoming “Exorcist” reboot — and jokes that it would be a “full-circle” moment for her.

The “Halloween” star revealed that despite being basically the Queen Elizabeth of starring in scary movies, she’s not a big fan of watching them herself.

She explained to Entertainment Weekly that she saw the original 1973 movie “The Exorcist” when she was 15 and it frightened the living daylights out of her.

“I’m brave, but I am afraid of scary things,” she admitted.

“When I was 15, my parents [actors Janet Leigh and Tony Curtis] screened the ‘Exorcist’ and my friends teased me the next day because I was so freaked out. I loathe being scared by scary movies,” Curtis divulged to the outlet.

Despite not being a fan of bone-chilling horror flicks herself, Curtis didn’t get her moniker by starring in rom-coms or dramas. Her horror acting credits include generation-defying roles in John Carpenter’s 1978 “Halloween” series of films, as well as the 1980s movies “The Fog” and “Prom Night.”

The “Freaky Friday” actress can most recently be seen in David Gordon Green’s “Halloween Kills,” a sequel to 2018’s “Halloween,” as returning character Laurie Strode.

Green is now at the helm of the new “Exorcist” series, which is set to star Leslie Odom Jr. and Ellen Burstyn. Curtis wants to play the demon who possessed Linda Blair’s Regan in the original movie. The Satan-like entity was first voiced by actress Mercedes McCambridge.

“Maybe I should be the voice of the devil, like Mercedes McCambridge,” Curtis continued. “You see, if David gives me a part in the new ‘Exorcist’ trilogy as the voice of the devil, then it is a full-circle return for me, in a meta way. That would blow people’s minds.”

Just before the premiere of “Halloween Kills,” Green was asked if Curtis told the filmmaker about her desire.

“Ooh, she has not!” the director told EW. “I’ll have to get her to audition for that one. You know, she did the crying baby for the last ‘Halloween’ movie, so she’s a talented voice actor as well.”
