Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers has declared that he is not worried about the ongoing speculation linking him with a potential future vacancy at Manchester United. Rodgers has reportedly emerged as the priority choice to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Old Trafford if the latter is relieved of his duties in the coming weeks.
Solskjaer currently finds himself under extreme pressure at United following Sunday’s embarrassing five-goal defeat at the hands of Liverpool.
Club chiefs are said to have discussed the possibility of sacking the 48-year-old, but he is expected to remain in charge for Saturday’s meeting with Tottenham in north London.
However, United’s hierarchy are believed to be drawing up a list of potential replacements in the event of Solskjaer failing to turn things around.
Rodgers is among the names under consideration after a hugely progressive spell in charge of Leicester to date, according to ESPN.
He was quizzed on the possibility of joining United on Friday but reiterated his commitment to his current employers, insisting that his unwavering focus remains with the job at hand.

“I don’t even think about it,” Rodgers told a press conference.
“I’m sure the supporters are probably tired of it. At Leicester, there is always a link.
“My focus is always here with Leicester and developing the football club and challenging for honours.
“The directors, staff and players all have the same vision.”

Rodgers has consistently been linked with a move away from Leicester in recent months, with the likes of Newcastle United and Tottenham having been tipped to appoint the 48-year-old as of late.
He issued a similar response when asked if his Foxes project was his only concern earlier this month, telling reporters: “One hundred per cent. I have got a contract until 2025.
“I absolutely love being here. I’m very fortunate. I’ve got a great chief executive and a director of football who I have a close relationship with and a group of players that I really, really enjoy working with.
“We have an infrastructure here that allows us to look to compete, so as long as they don’t want to move me then I’m very happy being here at the club.”

Rodgers has enjoyed a hugely impressive spell in charge of Leicester, helping the Foxes to establish themselves as regular top-four contenders in the Premier League.
He won his first major trophy at the club last season in the form of an FA Cup triumph, with his side eventually downing Chelsea in the all-important final at Wembley Stadium.
The Northern Irishman signed a long-term contract at the King Power Stadium back in 2019, with United likely to face a hefty compensation bill if they decide to move for his services.
