Best value holiday destinations for British travellers- an extra £189 for every £1,000

The travel money specialists at eurochange have analysed top holiday destinations to see where the pound goes furthest for British travellers. All the destinations surveyed are open to fully vaccinated Britons at the time of writing.

The best value destination for British travellers was found to be Turkey where Britons can get an extra £189 for every £1,000 since the start of the year.

The pound has risen by 23 percent against the lira since the start of 2021 making Turkey a fantastic value destination.

Some of the most popular Turkish destinations with British tourists include the resort towns of Fethiye, Marmaris and Bodrum.

Any Britons looking to book a last minute autumn break should consider Turkey for winter sun as temperatures remain warm late into the year.

Close behind Turkey in third place for the best value was the beautiful island destination of Cape Verde.

Since the beginning of the year the pound has risen seven percent against the Cape Verdean escudo.

Due to the good exchange rate, Britons can get an extra £63.35 for every £1,000 of currency.

The stunning tropical island is located in the Atlantic Ocean, just 350 miles off the Western coast of Africa.

For Britons looking for a break a little closer to home, there are many top holiday destinations in Western Europe to consider.

According to the eurochange research, the pound has risen by five percent against the euro since the start of the year.

British travellers can gain an extra £50.85 per £1000 compared to the start of 2021 in eurozone destinations.

Malta, Portugal and Spain are all top eurozone holiday destinations for British tourists looking for winter sunshine.

As we get nearer to Christmas, markets and mulled wine are a popular holiday choice for many Britons.

Christmas market fans can enjoy good value holidays in Poland, Denmark and Hungary where the pound has also risen.

British tourists can pick up an extra £55.56 as the pound rose against the Polish zloty.
