Windows 11 is finally here, with the latest generation of Microsoft’s flagship operating system rolling out as a Windows 10 update and available already loaded up on new PCs and laptops. If you purchased a new machine with Windows 11 pre-installed then it would be wise to help safeguard your device by signing up for an antivirus service. While Windows 11 already boasts the Windows Defender anti-malware software plus hardware supported security features like TPM (Trusted Platform Module) 2.0, using third-party antivirus software will add a crucial extra layer of security.

However, if you want the complete protection that AVG can offer you’ll need to sign up for its AVG Internet Security or AVG Ultimate offerings.

AVG Internet Security not helps block viruses and protect against ransomware, it also helps users avoid unsafe website, keeps them secure from phishing threats and verifies Wi-Fi network security. The top-of-the range AVG Ultimate, which offers access to the AVG Secure VPN, has also had its price reduced from £99.99 a year to £69.99.

That’s a 30 percent saving. Just bear in mind these AVG savings are only for the first year.

Avast – another free antivirus provider – also has some paid-for options which offer far greater protection.

Avast’s paid-for options are Avast One and Premium Security, which can be used on Windows, Mac, Android and iOS devices.

Avast One usually costs £79.99 a year – but this has now been reduced by 48 percent to £41.88. This package will let you use Avast One on five devices.

Premium Security has also had its price slashed from £74.99 a year to £49.99. Anyone that subscribes to this option will be able to use Premium Security on 10 devices.
