After the accident Matt began to set off home in his car, however he soon phoned Nicola, who was a physiotherapist at the time, to tell her about the accident.
When he explained that his feet felt strange, she told him to go straight to the hospital and to not get out of the car.
As Matt arrived at the hospital, medics examined him then lifted him out of his car to carry him through to a ward for some X-rays.
