Ulrika Jonsson hits back as Coleen Rooney labelled 'sad and lonely' amid forgiving Wayne

Ulrika Jonsson, 54, has referenced her own personal life as she declared she understood why Coleen Rooney has forgiven her husband Wayne Rooney. This comes amid new comments from the pair in an Amazon Prime documentary.

In a recent trailer, 35-year-old Coleen opened up about her husband Wayne’s past infidelity.

Speaking in the documentary Rooney, she said: “I knew groups Wayne was hanging around with – together with alcohol – not good.

“I forgive him but it wasn’t acceptable.”

Now Ulrika has spoken out in Coleen’s defence, referring to her own past indiscretions.

In an opinion piece for The Sun, the former weather presenter said she feels sorry for her.

She penned: “I am sure everyone has passed comment on Coleen — in their heads, to their close friends or on social media.

“I am sure everyone has, in her name and in her shoes, divorced Wayne or cursed her for not leaving him. I am certain she has been the butt of many jokes.

“Many will have pitied her for the sad, lonely life she must lead — in a marriage and yet so very much on her own.”

She added: “Sure, she could set herself up on her own with her boys very comfortably and do exactly as she pleases, but she is choosing not to.

“There is something about that I respect.”

Wayne, 35, also discussed his past affairs in the trailer for the upcoming Amazon Prime documentary.

He said: “People still look at me in a different way.

“For me, it’s important that people remember me for who I am rather than what I’ve done.”
