BBC Breakfast presenter Naga Munchetty has taken to Twitter to respond to rumours that she’s been “replaced”. The newsreader, 46, and her co-host Charlie Stayt were replaced on Saturday morning’s show by Jon Kay and Nina Warhurst. However, taking to Twitter during her time off, the keen golfer revealed she was not happy to see that her friend, golf pro Sophie Walker, had gone for a round of the sport without her, leading the BBC star to jokingly brand the situation “outrageous”.
Taking to Twitter, golf pro Sophie Walker posted a sunny snap of the green yesterday evening.
She wrote in view of her 16,200 followers: “I think all Friday afternoons should be spent this way.
“Bit of golf with the girls.”
The sportswoman went on to reveal that she was on the green with two BBC journalists – sports reporters Sarah Mulkerrins and Jane Dougall.

However, Jane was quick to write back: “No she didn’t,” leading BBC Breakfast star to brand the situation “outrageous”.
Naga has been absent from the red sofa all week, with Nina Warhurst stepping in to co-host the show with Charlie Stayt.
However, on Saturday, Charlie and Naga were both absent from the programme, with Jon Kay and Nina stepping in to host the latest news headlines.
Despite her absence from BBC Breakfast, Naga did present her radio show on BBC 5 Live on Monday and Tuesday.
The 46-year-old landed her new show earlier this year after replacing Emma Barnett.
Earlier in the week, Naga took to Twitter to respond after worrying fans over her health during her BBC Radio 5 Live show yesterday.
Naga was forced to play a pre-recorded clip when her uncontrollable cough got in the way of her broadcast, while she rushed off air to grab some water.
Naga’s coughing fit didn’t go unnoticed by her listeners, with one fan taking to Twitter to check on her, resulting in Naga putting down her cough to “getting over a cold”.
