Instagram down AGAIN: Server status latest, Facebook-owned app not working for thousands

Instagram down reports are flooding in once again for the second time this week. Independent outage monitor Down Detector has recorded a huge spike in Instagram down reports, with thousands of users reporting issues. At the time of writing, Down Detector UK has registered a peak of around 19,000 Instagram down reports.

While according to Down Detector stats, the main issues plaguing affected Instagram users are problems with the iOS and Android apps.

Other reported Instagram problems are with server connection and the Instagram news feed.

The latest Instagram issues come in the aftermath of a major outage at the start of this week which affected all Facebook-owned apps.

On Monday Facebook, Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp and Instagram all suffered huge outages that affected millions of users.

These outages lasted for six hours and were the longest outages in Facebook’s history.

As the latest Instagram issues hit users flocked to rival social networking website Twitter to report the problems they were facing.

One tweeted: “Both times Instagram has gone down this week I spend all morning on it with no problem and as soon as I try to post something it won’t load”.

While another posted: “Whoever is head of household at @instagram and @Facebook pay your light bill”.

One added: “Instagram is down again bye”.

And another wrote: “Instagram don’t let me down pleeeaaaase”.

As the reported issues with Instagram flooded in users of Facebook and Facebook Messenger also reported problems tonight.

At the time of writing Down Detector UK has registered a peak of 1,600 Facebook down reports and around 1,000 Messenger down reports.

Speaking about today’s service issues, a Facebook spokesperson told Express.co.uk: “We’re aware that some people are having trouble accessing Facebook products. We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible and we apologize for any inconvenience.”

In the aftermath of the huge outage earlier this week Facebook apologised for the significant disruption users experienced.

Following the lengthy downtime that affected Facebook, Messenger, WhatsApp and Instagram on Monday a rep for the tech giant said: “To everyone who was affected by the outages on our platforms today: we’re sorry. We know billions of people and businesses around the world depend on our products and services to stay connected.
