Britney Spears' ex-husband Kevin Federline supports ending the popstar's conservatorship

Kevin Federline is in full support of his ex-wife Britney Spears ending her longtime conservatorship.

The 43-year-old former backup dancer, who shares two teen boys with the popstar, hopes that if Britney can finally get out from underneath the restrictive legal measures, it would benefit their kids.

Federline’s lawyer spoke out to People Magazine in the newest issue, expressing his clients wish that ‘the removal of stress’ from Britney’s life by ending the conservatorship would allow Sean Preston and Jayden James to ‘have their mom at her best.’

Attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan said his client feels he and Britney’s sons, Sean Preston, 16, and Jayden James, 15, ‘should be able to benefit from the removal of stress from her life so that they have their mom at her best.’

‘If Britney wants to see the children, she’s able to see the children,’ Kaplan added, without going into detail regarding their custody arrangement.

Federline has primary custody of Sean Preston and Jayden James.

‘Obviously we don’t know whether the conservatorship will be continued, but as long as the boys are properly supervised and safe, and Britney is able to do that without the presence of a conservator, he’s happy,’ Kaplan continued.

Meanwhile, a source close to the 39-year-old headliner told People that Britney ‘blames’ her dad Jamie for not being able to see her boys.

Jamie Spears had been in control of Britney’s life through her conservatorship for over a decade. Just recently he petitioned to formally step down as her conservator and supported vacating the whole thing.

‘She hopes she will be able to see her boys more now,’ the insider said.

In August 2019, Jamie Spears was involved in an altercation with grandson Sean Preston leading to a restraining order against Jamie for both Sean and brother Jayden.

On Tuesday, the boys made a rare appearance on Instagram appearing in a snap shared by a friend of their dad.

Kevin’s friend saluted the former dancer’s parenting prowess in the post which came just hours before Britney shared a bizarre video of herself dancing with a baby doll on Wednesday while stating that the toy was her first girl.

Eddie Morales shared a duo of photos of himself beaming while wrapping his arms around the teens while also making seemingly pointed comments in which he praised Kevin’s parenting and said ‘the world will see’ he is a great dad.

Sean sported a thick mass of curly hair and wore a simple black hoodie with dark jeans, while Jayden wore his dark hair shaggy and had on a black sweatshirt with yellow-dyed pants.

Morales seemed to turn to Kevin and his sons as inspiration while dealing with a loss. He wrote: ‘During times of grief knowing u have #family really feels worth living…

‘Talk bout seeing my nephews when they were pods smaller then my hands now look at #life how beautiful gods work is … love you bro @federline4real. ‘#unlikenoother,’ ‘#trueGentleman,’ ‘#Friends,’ and ‘#brothers.’

He added that they would support each other ’till the wheels fall off.’

Morales seemed to suggest that Kevin’s parenting would take more of a spotlight, possibly due to Britney’s recent wins against her conservatorship.

‘NOW THE WORLD WILL SEE HOW MUCH OF A GREAT #DAD HE HAS BEEN!’ he added.

In a second photo, he hunched down playfully while Jayden flashed a peace sign and Sean gave him bunny ears.

Kevin was featured in other photos as he and his pals bonded over beers outside.

Morales capped off his post with an impressive video of Sean revealing that he’s following in his mother’s footsteps with his own musical talents.

He pounded away at an upright piano with a spooky-sounding tune as Kevin’s friend cheered in the background.

While Britney’s sons were spending some time with their father, she posted a strange video in which she seemed to joke about having a new child.

The 39-year-old singer–songwriter grinned ear-to-ear and opened her eyes wide while holding up a little baby doll.

She had on a pale pink sweater that was inside-out and matched the doll’s onesie, and she wore her blond hair up in a short fanned-out ponytail.

She penned: ‘I had a baby y’all. I will be taking some time off shooting at home every day!!! Her nursery is beautiful and her name is Brennan … we even look alike!!! My first [daughter – illustrated with a little girl emoji]’

Britney’s fiancé Sam Asghari appeared to be recording the clip, and he cheered her own as she bobbed around with the baby.

‘Look at that! You look just like each other,’ he said.

Britney urged her 35.1 million followers to stay young at heart and called ‘growing up’ the ‘dumbest thing you’ll ever do.’

‘I’m turning 40 this year … age is nothing but a number but seriously … growing up is the dumbest thing you’ll ever do so PLAY ON MY FRIENDS!!!!’

She followed up the video with a text post with a similar sentiment: ‘Being an adult is the dumbest thing I have ever done.’ Despite the unusual baby theme of her post, Britney didn’t mention either of her real sons in her caption.

She and their father Kevin met in the spring of 2004 and got engaged three months later in July.

The couple had a ceremony in September of that year, though it wouldn’t be until the next month that their marriage became official, as they waited to sign the papers while ironing out their prenuptial agreement.

The couple welcomed Sean in 2005, and Jayden followed in 2006, though Britney filed for divorce from Kevin later that year.

The boys and her ex were connected to the start of the singer’s conservatorship in 2008, following a January incident in which she refused to return the boys to Kevin’s representatives when it was his turn to care for them.

After police arrived at her house, she was placed on an involuntary psychiatric hold, then later placed under a conservatorship.

Britney scored a victory in her battle to end the conservatorship when her father Jamie Spears was suspended as her conservator last week.

Although he’s no longer responsible for taking care of her medication and personal issues, he still had control over her finances until being suspended.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Toxic singer shared a video of herself dancing in a lacy red bra and stockings, as well as another clip of her in a leopard-print suit.

She wrote in the caption for the latter video that she felt like a ‘caged animal for half of my life,’ which was why she took so much pleasure in making dancing videos to her own specifications.
