'What the f***?' Kirstie Allsopp defends Channel 4 as Jenny Eclair rages at Bake Off error

Taking to the micro-blogging site, Jenny quizzed her 180,000 followers, about where to find the show after it aired on the network.

She fumed: “Can’t find Bake Off on ch 4 catch up wtf [what the f***]?”(sic)

The ex-Loose Women star explained that she had been attempting to watch the popular series via her iPad but couldn’t find the programme.

Jenny received a flurry of comments from concerned viewers, who claimed to have a similar issue.

Jools Riddell said: “Thought it was just me, phew. Always sad to miss biscuits.”

“I’ve looked too!! Only epsiode one is available on catchup. And I’m seeing stuff on social and need to watch it before I read the spoilers! Yikes! Might need cake to deal with the stress,”(sic) Amia commented.

Jay Nicholas remarked: “I have it on record but for about a week everything recorded on Channel 4 has no sound.”

“Nor me for last week. If you do find it, could you please let me know where? Thanks,” Alison Hammond added.

“On Saturday 25th September 2021, Channel 4’s channels and on-demand services were significantly affected when the fire suppression system was triggered at Red Bee Media, the company that broadcasts our services,” a statement on the channel’s website read.

“The building was evacuated and no one was injured, but as a result, we were temporarily off-air.”

Though Channel 4 and all of its channels are broadcasting again, there are still issues with its programmes due to the incident, particularly with audio and video quality.

“Since the incident, we have also continued to have problems with our All 4 service and are not able to offer any programmes with audio description, subtitles or sign language,” the statement continued.
