How many episodes are in Maid on Netflix? Will there be another series?

MAID made its Netflix debut on October 1 and the series stars Alex (played by Margaret Qualley), a young mother who escapes her emotionally abusive partner. She gets a job working as a maid for more affluent households in order to secure a future for herself and her child. Fans are keen to know how many episodes are in the series and whether there is more to come.

How many episodes are in Maid on Netflix?

Maid is based on Stephanie Land’s memoir titled Maid: Hard Work, Low Pay, and a Mother’s Will to Survive.

The critically acclaimed series has already made its way into the streaming platform’s top 10 in the US and the UK.

Alex was forced to flee from her partner Sean (Nick Robinson), who was the father of her daughter.

She was also struggling with the turbulent relationship she had with her mother Paula (Andie MacDowell), who suffered from bipolar disorder.

At the end of the series, Alex and her daughter Maddy decided to make the move to Montana.

Her mother was due to go with them, but she later backed out having decided to stay behind.

Alex and Maddy were last seen boarding the ferry, with Alex having made up with her mother.

The limited series is made up of 10 episodes and they were all given unique titles.

Netflix only gave a series order for one season, so sadly it is not likely more episodes will be made.

In the world of TV, a limited series is a show with an end date in mind and a limit to the number of episodes made.

For example, fans could get to see the start of Alex and Sean’s relationship, and how Sean came to be so emotionally abusive.

They have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts on the future of the series, with @AndIOopThePod saying: “Maid is such a good show. I hope there’s a season 2 #MAIDNetflix.”

Lisa added: “#MAIDNetflix amazing story. When’s season 2? Going to the book now.”

Actress Qualley is on Instagram and she received plenty of praise from her fans.

Ja2ja420 said: “Congratulations on the release of this show and I hope we get season 2!!”

The actress and her on-screen mother are in fact mother and daughter in real life.

Speaking about their relationship, she told Collider: “It was my idea. I was so excited about it.

“I was up in Canada quarantining and the role of my mom was still open, and it dawned on me that I’ve always wanted to work with my mom.

“And then, I was like, ‘Whoa, this is it. My mom’s gotta do this.’ And I called Margot Robbie and she loved the idea.

“Everyone was on board and really excited about it. And then, I was just crossing my fingers, hoping my mom would want to do it, and I lucked out.”

Maid is streaming on Netflix now.
