Trump predicts AOC vs. Schumer primary as Democrats halt budget bills

Former President Trump teased Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer that Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez could run for his seat.

He also gloated over Congressional Dems’ budget disarray in the same Friday email to supporters.

“Next up, AOC running against Chuck Schumer for his US Senate Seat!” Trump reveled late Friday after House Democrats collapsed in rancor over President Biden’s massive social spending bill.

“The Progressives gain far more power with the legislation being currently talked about by failing than if it passes,” Trump explained, hours after President Biden sided with the party’s left wing and agreed with their strategy to hold his bipartisan infrastructure bill hostage to passage of his $3.5 trillion “Build Back Better” plan. “It makes them a true powerhouse.”

Trump has predicted for months that AOC would challenge Schumer when the powerful Big Apple pol’s current term ends in 2022 — going so far as to say in February 2020 that she would “kick his ass.”

Trump teased Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer that Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez could run for his seat.

But the two-term Squad member has played coy about her intentions — while never explicitly ruling out a Senate bid.

“I know it drives everybody nuts, but the way that I really feel about this and the way that I really approach my politics and my political career is that I do not look at things and I do not set my course positionally,” AOC told CNN in August.
