Four Chelsea changes needed with Hakim Ziyech key – Thomas Tuchel's ideal XI vs Juventus

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel will hope to get back to winning ways in the Champions League on Wednesday night after a lacklustre performance over the weekend against title rivals Manchester City last weekend.

Gabriel Jesus’ goal was enough to separate the sides in west London, although it should have been more given how dominant City were.

Pep Guardiola’s men limited Chelsea to nothing in a game which Tuchel will admit he got wrong tactically.

And with a chance to redeem himself in the Champions League just a few days after, Express Sport looks at a potential new XI that contains four changes for the trip to Turin.

Goalkeeper: Mendy

Shot-stopper Mendy came back into the side against City, and although he couldn’t prevent Chelsea going home empty handed, he couldn’t have done much such was the City enslaught.

Midfield: Hudson-Odoi, Kovacic, Saul, Alonso

This is the key problem area for Chelsea, especially over the last few days.

Jorginho and Reece James both endured injuries at the weekend, meaning Hudson-Odoi and Kovacic should come to the fore as like-for-like replacements.

And with the news that N’Golo Kante had tested positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday, Saul could come in as backup for the hard-working Frenchman.

Attack: Ziyech, Lukaku, Havertz

Christian Pulisic and Mason Mount remain injured, and with Hudson-Odoi filling in for the James role there are limited options up front.

Lukaku is an obvious choice, but that leaves a three-way battle between Ziyech, Havertz and Timo Werner for the wide spots.

And with the former duo better on the ball than the generally quicker Werner, Tuchel will count on the pair in what would only be Ziyech’s fifth start from a possible nine all season.
