'You've got a degree, relax!' Gordon Ramsay fires back as new series branded a 'flop'

Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay has hit out at criticism of his new series, Gordon, Gino and Fred: Road Trip. Taking to Twitter, the sharp-tongued restaurateur, 54, fired back after his show was branded a “flop” by one critic on the platform.

In view of his 7.4 million followers, Gordon didn’t hold back as he reprimanded a social media user for their comments.

TV reviewer Christopher Stevens gave the chef’s show a mere one out of five stars, branding the programme “unwatchable”.

The critic wrote in the Daily Mail that the use of the “F-word” by all three men was so “unfunny” it became “monotonous”, before delving into the history of the profanity and revealing that it was first used by Nazis in the second World War.

Responding to the criticism, Gordon fired back: “Come on Christopher you’ve got a degree!

“F-word stands for fun, something you’re not having right now, relax my friend,” he ended his tweet.

Last night saw the first episode of the third season of the trio’s road trip continue, as they ventured to Greece to immerse themselves in culinary traditions.

However, plenty of Twitter users rushed to the comments to defend the light-hearted show.

Chris Ellis wrote: “Quality TV – keep it up lads.”

While Tracey McCulloch penned: “It cheered me up big time. Not laughed so much in ages.”

“Haven’t laughed that much in a while… thank you Gordon, Fred and the sous chef… loved it,” added Jon E.

However,  Beverley Wilkins wrote: “I don’t think I’ll be able to eat a sausage ever again after watching #GordonGinoandFred”, alongside two nauseated face emojis.

Ruth Prowton also wrote: “Wonder how long it’ll take before Gordon swears.”

While Gordon is a regular face on the small screen, so now his daughter Tilly, who is taking part in Strictly Come Dancing 2021. Last week she gave an insight into her dad’s reaction to her being partnered up with Nikita Kuzmin.

The teenager admitted that Gordon was less than impressed with the announcement behind-the-scenes.

She spilled: “I think it’d be great to see him [Gordon] dance [on the show].

“He’s actually really upset that I’ve got a new dance partner.”

The CBBC star continued in an interview with Radio Times: “You know, he’s been my dance partner for a long time now [on TikTok], and he said, ‘But you will still dance with me?’

“And I’m like, ‘Maybe you’ll have to go and find a dance partner, Dad’.”

Saturday night saw Tilly and Nikita take to the dancefloor to perform a romantic waltz, which earned a score of 21 from the judges.

While her mum Tana became emotional at watching her daughter from the studio, Gordon watched Tilly make her dance floor debut from home.
