Janette Manrara appearance distracts It Takes Two viewers: 'Dressed as the Glitterball?'

Janette Manrara joined long-serving It Takes Two frontman Rylan Clark-Neal on the Strictly spin-off show on Monday after taking presenting reins from Zoe Ball. After stepping down as a professional in this year’s line-up, Janette will now be fronting the BBC Two show every weekday to give fans the latest update from the ballroom. However, before Janette had even got into the swing of things during her It Takes Two debut, fans were taken aback by her appearance.

The dancer joined Rylan in the BBC studio with her hair held up in curls and donning an eye-catching glittery number.

Janette’s flawless appearance even garnered a comment from Rylan who joked she’d come wrapped as a “gift” for her debut.

And It Takes Two viewers at home were equally as taken aback, with dozens taking to social media to comment on the dancer’s “iconic” look.

Katie said on Twitter: “Janette dressing as the actual glitterball for her first it takes two is iconic (and nothing less than i’d expect).” (Sic)

While Dylan commented: “Whoever picked Janette to present #ItTakesTwo, pat yourself on the back. She’s wonderful.”

And it wasn’t just John and Johannes who joined Janette and Rylan on the first It Takes Two of the series.

AJ Odudu and her pro partner Kai Widdrington sat down with Janette to discuss their next dance on Saturday evening as well as the success of their first performance.

The pair created Strictly history as they received the first-ever opening week score of nine from head judge Shirley Ballas.

Soon after, Robert Webb and his partner Dianne Buswell entered the studio to discuss their current experience on the show.

The Peep Show star admitted he was overjoyed to receive a score of six from typically prickly judge Craig Revel-Horwood.

And on Saturday, Diane and Robert teased the comedic element of their dance will be taking a backseat as they perform a serious routine for viewers.

Strictly: It Takes Two airs weekdays at 6:30pm on BBC Two.
