Amy Schumer ‘feeling stronger’ after having uterus and appendix removed

Amy Schumer is on the mend after undergoing surgery to remove her uterus and appendix.

The former “Inside Amy Schumer” star gave fans an update on her recovery over the weekend, going so far to share the pathology report, which highlighted just how much her endometriosis was ravaging her body.

“I’m feeling stronger and thrilled about life. I attached the audio of @seckinmd going over my pathology with me if that interests you. I cry through most of the findings,” Schumer captioned a series of photos on Instagram.

“I had a tumor in my endo ravaged appendix. Chocolate cysts in both ovaries. Endo of the uterus, psoas all over all my lifelong pain explained and lifted out of my body,” she explained. “I am already a changed person. I am busting with joy for the new energy I have to be with my son.”

Schumer, who joked she can’t answer questions” medically,” said “f–k yes” she believed the aforementioned issues were related to her difficult pregnancy with son Gene.

“I can’t answer medically because there is no research on this shit because they only happen TO WOMEN and there is no time to study them because all resources need to be funneled into researching ERECTILE DISFUNCTION,” she joked in the caption.

She added, “THERE IS BARELY ANY RESEARCH ON ENDOMETRIOSIS WHICH OVER 10 percent of women have. ALL FUNDING SEEMS TO GO TO D–KMEREGENCIES.”

Schumer, 40, concluded her caption by asking Melinda Gates, “How about we help this?!!”

The “Trainwreck” star has been candid in the past about how her endometriosis has affected her fertility. In August 2020, Schumer decided she couldn’t “be pregnant ever again” after welcoming her 2-year-old son because of the toll IVF took on her.

“I decided that I can’t be pregnant ever again,” she said during an appearance on “Sunday Today With Willie Geist” at the time. “We thought about a surrogate, but I think we’re going to hold off for right now.”
