Kate Quigley reflects on last conversation with Fuquan Johnson before group OD

Kate Quigley says she had a “special connection” with fellow comedian Fuquan “Fu” Johnson.

“He and I had the most amazing talk that night,” the 39-year-old wrote in a lengthy caption on Instagram dedicated to her late friend. “I feel really blessed that I was granted that time with him. He always made me feel like a million bucks. Always lifted me up.”

She added that they connected “because we both believed over all else in being real – even if it meant being less rich, or famous, or whatever the f*** people search for out here.”

The former Playboy TV host waited to pay tribute to her friend because she “didn’t wanna single out Fu as being special” to her when three people died that night.

Quigley also explained that she would not be commenting on “who supplied what” the night of the party, claiming “it doesn’t really matter.”

“If you do any illegal drugs, you’re basically signing a contract that says, ‘I accept that I might die sooner than I would like,’” she wrote. “We all know that.”

Quigley was the only survivor of an accidental overdose that left Johnson, 42, and two others dead at the beginning of September. The overdose was a result of the group using cocaine laced with fentanyl at a house party in Venice.

The other two victims were later identified as Ricky Angeli and Natalie Williamson.

Since the overdose, Quigley has been forthcoming on social media about her recovery.

“I’m still healing physically and mentally,” she wrote on Twitter on Sept. 9 while thanking her followers for their supportive messages, adding, “You have no idea how much it’s helping.”
