Spencer trailer shows Princess Diana's fear in final years – 'Will they kill me?' – WATCH

This week the latest trailer for Spencer gave viewers the most information yet about how the movie is going to look and feel. The ethereal trailer gave fans more footage of Kristen Stewart as Diana, Princess of Wales, during the events of her infamous Christmas at Sandringham in 1991.

The tense and thrilling trailer shows off Princess Diana struggling to come to terms with the impending doom of her marriage with Prince Charles.

The film is set, of course, during the final months of the royal couple’s marriage.

The pair separated in 1992, before divorcing in 1996.

During the new trailer for the film, Princess Diana could be seen saying: “There’s no hope for me, not with them.”

After being told: “You are your own weapon,” Diana looked off into the distance.

She asked: “Will they kill me, do you think?”

The movie is due out in November, marking the first fictional recreation of Diana’s life in the Royal Family since Netflix show The Crown.

Directed by Pablo Larrain, the movie has received a lot of buzz at the Venice Film Festival in recent months, with particular praise for Stewart’s performance.

Stewart added: “I think if anyone ever made a movie about me, I wouldn’t feel like it was … I wouldn’t feel stolen from or taken from. There’s nothing salacious about our intention, I think that would be probably more embedded in interpretation.”

Reviews for the upcoming film have been widely positive, with The Telegraph’s Robbie Collin tweeting: “Happy to say I ascended into the ionosphere during Pablo Larraín’s completely mad, sad and beautiful Spencer.

“Categorically not The Queen, but Kristen Stewart is Oscar-deservingly great – and Meghan Markle’s going to love it.”

Spencer hits cinemas on November 5, 2021.
