Sadiq Khan says new car tax fees will be launched to make London a climate 'world leader'

To avoid the fee, drivers of petrol cars, vans and minibuses must meet Euro 4 NOx standards which became mandatory in 2005.

Diesel cars must meet Euro 6 standards which were launched in September 2015.

Mayor Philip Glanville, Chair of London Councils Transport and Environment Committee had called for the Government to do more to “be part of the solution” to climate issues.

He said: “As the Mayor of London warns, the climate emergency is already having a damaging impact on Londoners across the capital.
