Dan Walker shares fears on prioritising Strictly training 'I don't know how it can work'

The BBC Breakfast host is among the 15 famous faces hoping to dance his way to the final in the hit BBC competition Strictly Come Dancing. But the 44-year-old has a busy schedule, with presenting the morning show taking up a lot of his time, and other jobs coming up. While some people temporarily give up work to fully focus on learning the steps each week, Dan is taking a more relaxed approach.

“That is a very good question,” he said when asked about juggling his commitments.

He added: “Because having watched the programme for a long time I know that everybody does things differently.

“Some people give up their jobs for three months.

“Some people move to London and concentrate on the programme.

“I’ve had lots of discussions about the outfits,” he revealed.

“I suppose in my general headspace at the minute I’m sort of 40 percent excited, 60 percent terrified.

“And that would exist around the outfits as well. But so far, there’s been a few funky tuxedos, rather tighter shirts than I would normally wear.

“I’ll be concerned once we get towards the sort of see-through numbers, I’ll try to avoid that – leave that to the boys with the muscles!”
