Team USA and Team Europe won’t be the only stars on-site at the Ryder Cup this weekend.
The 43rd annual competition at Whistling Straits Golf Course in Wisconsin will unite the wives and girlfriends from each team for a weekend of socializing, photos ops and more.
The Ryder Cup is the golf event that heavily involves the WAGs from both teams, especially compared to PGA Tour events. They’ll spend the weekend attending team dinners and bonding sessions, while also showcasing their own style and personalities at a variety of events.
Team USA’s WAGs are made up of an impressive group of women that includes a few models, an actress, and a pharmacist.
Dustin Johnson and Paulina Gretzky are one of the most popular golf couples. The model and PGA star have been engaged since 2013, and plan to tie to the knot sometime in 2022. Gretzky, the daughter of hockey legend Wayne Gretzky, recently revealed her wedding dress was designed by Vera Wang. They share two young sons, Tatum and River.
Brooks Koepka and Jena Sims became engaged in March after meeting at the Masters in 2015. Sims, an actress, announced their engagement on April Fool’s Day, with the caption “Forever is no joke” alongside a photo of the couple. Koepka and Sims began dating in 2017, and she’s supported him on the PGA Tour ever since. Sims is also founder of Pageant of Hope — a nonprofit organization with a mission to empower, celebrate and advocate for children facing challenges, and to celebrate inner beauty and self confidence.
Bryson DeChambeau and Sophia Phalen Bertolami have been together since at least 2018, when she shared a photo of the two holding hands. Though, the couple is very private about their relationship, and doesn’t share much online. Bertolami, a Tennessee native, was a medical student, studying pharmacology. She’s also an Instagram model and often collaborates with the swimwear brand, La Isla.
Jordan Spieth married his high school sweetheart Annie Verret in 2018. Verret majored in business at Texas Tech, and has worked as an events coordinator at the First Tee of Greater Dallas — an organization that introduces young children to golf.
Patrick Cantlay and girlfriend Nikki Guidish went public with their relationship earlier this year, and she’s been by his side on the PGA Tour ever since. It’s unclear exactly when the two got together, but they were first spotted at the Memorial Tournament at Jack Nicklaus’ Muirfield Village in June. Guidish, a Florida native, is a former model, fitness influencer and bodybuilder. She is a doctor of pharmacy at Palm Beach Pharmaceuticals — where she’s worked since July 2020, according to LinkedIn. She earned her undergrad and doctorate degrees from the University of Central Florida.
Collin Morikawa and Katherine Zhu, a former college golfer, met after being set up in college. Zhu was playing for Pepperdine and Morikawa for University of California Berkeley at the time. Zhu, who was born in Vancouver, Canada, and attended high school in China, and previously pursued competitive tennis.
“I love traveling and golf,” Zhu told The Post in Sept. 2020. “When Collin is practicing, I am looking for restaurants on Yelp and Instagram.”
Justin Thomas and girlfriend Jillian Wisniewski have been dating for years, and are believed to have first gotten together in 2016. Wisniewski, a Kentucky native, graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism from the University of Kentucky, where she was also a member of Phi Beta Phi sorority. According to her private Instagram account, she is a Rodan + Fields Independent Consultant.
Daniel Berger and Tori Slater have been dating since at least early 2015. She studied marketing at Florida Atlantic University, and works in real estate in Jupiter, Fla.
Xander Schauffele met his wife Maya Lowe while the two attended San Diego State University. In early July he revealed on social media that he married his longtime girlfriend by posting a photo from their wedding day, with their two pups. Lowe, according to her LinkedIn profile, works for Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest, and has been with the company since 2015.
Tony Finau and wife Alayna Galea’i-Finau have five children — Jraice, Leilene Aiaga, Tony, Sage and Sienna-Vee. They celebrated their nine-year wedding anniversary in May. The couple are devout members of the Church of Latter-Day Saints.
Scottie Scheffler and wife Meredith Scudder met while in high school in Dallas. They went their separate ways when he attended University of Texas and she attended Texas A&M. But, they managed to stay close, and Scheffler eventually popped the question while on a hike together.
Harris English and Helen Marie Bowers are very private about their relationship. The couple both attended the University of Georgia, and Bowers reportedly works as a real estate agent in the area, per Yahoo.
