Shang-Chi Disney Plus – here's when you can watch the new Marvel movie for free

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings has only been in cinemas for a short while but it has already claimed the top spot of the box office for the past few weeks. Since then, Marvel fans have been excited to stream the Chinese hero’s debut on the Disney streaming service Disney Plus. Today, the House of Mouse announced exactly when it will be coming to a small screen near you.

Today Disney announced a celebration of their streaming service they have titled Disney Plus Day.

The day takes place on November 12, 2021, and includes a number of “thank you” features dedicated to the subscribers of the service – included in this line up is the streaming debut of Simu Liu’s Marvel debut.

This means fans can watch Shang-Chi on Disney Plus from November 12, 2021.

This is especially exciting considering the film’s box office has just crossed the $320 million mark, making it one of the franchise’s biggest debuts.

But this isn’t all that’s being introduced to Disney Plus.

The latest family adventure film Jungle Cruise also hits the streaming service on the same day for the first time without Disney Plus with Premiere Access.

This means subscribers will not have to pay an extra fee to watch the movie.

The film, which is based on the Disney World ride of the same name, features Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt looking for the Fountain of Youth.

Disney isn’t just welcoming already-established franchises but is also reimagining some.

A Home Alone reboot is also hitting the service, titled Home Sweet Home Alone.

The company describes the movie as a “reimagining of the popular holiday franchise”.

Disney’s recently acquired company FOX is also getting some love with a new feature involving The Simpsons.

The company have not said a lot about the upcoming short, but revealed The Simpsons will “pay tribute to Disney Plus’s marquee brands”.

Fans of Star Wars and The Mandalorian will also be getting their fill on Disney Plus Day.

A special celebrating the origins of Boba Fett will be featured on the event, just ahead of the new series The Book of Boba Fett.

This may clear up some of the confusion around Boba’s “death” in The Return of the Jedi, when he was eaten by the Sarlacc Pit.

Since then, he has returned in The Mandalorian, seemingly defying death in the process.

Marvel fans are also getting their own special which celebrates the MCU, with an “exciting look towards the future”.

All of this and more hits Disney Plus Day on November 12.

Disney Plus is available now.
