Sarah Palin goes on bizarre rant: she has NOT had the vaccine because she 'believes in the science' 

Sarah Palin, 57, revealed that she has not received the COVID vaccine claiming it is because she believes in science that she has forgone the shot. 

The former governor of Alaska and vice presidential candidate explained her reasoning for not getting vaccinated during her Thursday night appearance on Fox New’s talk show, Gutfeld! 

‘I am one of those white common sense conservatives,’ she began, ‘I believe in the science and I have not taken the shot.’ 

She made a joke about shots before continuing on in her explanation invoking Dr. Anthony Fauci in her defense against receiving the vaccine claiming she has natural immunity.   

‘One, because the waitress never came back to ask me if I was ready for that shot.’

‘Two because I do believe in science and the Faucism of the day back then was if you’ve had COVID, I’ve had COVID, well then mother nature was creating an immunity into me.’ 

Fauci has repeatedly stated that those who have been infected should still receive the vaccine for maximum protection against COVID. 

The CDC advises those who have had COVID-19 to still get the vaccine because research has not shown how long immunity lasts and the shot helps protect people even if they’ already been infected. 

Dr. Drew Pinsky, who was also a guest on the show, jumped in claiming that people with antibodies from having COVID were ’27 times’ less likely than vaccinated to contract the Delta variant. 

Pinsky was referring to a study conducted in Israel which showed that people who were previously diagnosed with COVID were much less likely to contract Delta, develop symptoms, or be hospitalized than vaccinated people who’ve never had COVID. 

An article published by Science.org titled ‘Having SARS-CoV-2 once confers much greater immunity than a vaccine—but vaccination remains vital’ discusses the Israeli study. 

While the study does prove the power of the human immune system, it goes on to show that people who previously had COVID and received one dose of the vaccine ‘were more highly protected against reinfection’ than people who had COVID and did not receive the shot. 

The conclusion of the study did not question or dismiss the need for previously infected people to receive the vaccine entirely but suggested that those people may only be in need of one dose instead of two. 

However, the CDC cited a study which found that unvaccinated people who had been previously diagnosed with COVID were 2 times more likely than vaccinated people to be reinfected. 

The study conducted in the United States noted ‘the benefit of vaccination for previously infected persons.’ 

More than 177 million Americans have been fully vaccinated as of September 9. This number includes about 63 percent of all eligible Americans (over age 12), 65 percent of adults, and 82 percent of seniors.

More than 99 percent of those impacted by COVID in 2021 have been unvaccinated. 

While Palin may not have plans to get the COVID vaccine, last month she did announce that she may be jumping back into politics with a bid for Senate in 2022. 

Palin would be running against incumbent Lisa Murkowski, who has held the position since 2002 and serves as the second-most senior Republican woman in the Senate.   

‘If God wants me to do it I will,’ Palin told a conservative Christian crowd on July 22 in Pasadena, California, after New Apostolic Reformation leader Ché Ahn asked her if she was planning on running for the Senate seat.

‘What I would do if I were to announce is say you know what, you guys better be there for me this time because a lot of people weren’t there for me last time and that’s why characterization-wise, I got clobbered,’ Palin said.

She also defended her decision to hand the reigns to Lieutenant Governor Sean Parnell when she resigned as governor after three years in 2009. She believed Parnell holds the same conservative values that she does and would continue her legacy. 

After she and presidential candidate John McCain lost in 2008, Palin said she was inundated with ethics probes, FOIA requests and media criticism that ultimately led her to resigning as governor of Alaska.

‘The Obama administration sent their flying monkeys,’ she said. ‘ . . . it stalled our administration. Every e-mail, every conversation was scrutinized. So, there’s a difference between quitting and saying enough is enough.’

Palin stayed out of politics and under the radar following her resignation, but came back into the public eye in March 2020 when she was revealed as the Bear on an episode of Fox’s The Masked Singer.
