Demon Slayer season 2 release date could be revealed next week

Demon Slayer fans could soon get official confirmation of when the season 2 release date will be. Tanjiro is set to return this year, with an adaptation of the Entertainment District Arc launching in 2021. So far an exact release date for Demon Slayer season 2 hasn’t been revealed yet, but this could all be about to change very shortly.

That’s because the Demon Slayer season 2 release date could get announced after an upcoming broadcast on Japanese TV.

On Saturday September 25 the record breaking Mugen Train movie will be airing on Japanese TV for the first time.

And it’s believed the release date for Demon Slayer season 2 could be announced in the aftermath of this premiere.

The potential Demon Slayer season 2 release date announcement window was previously revealed by the @DemonSlayerSc Twitter.

Back in July the account tweeted: “More information about Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Season 2 will be revealed on September 25, 2021.

“A release date may be announced!”

It’s rumoured the first episode of Demon Slayer season 2 will air in October.

And if that’s the case time is running out to make this release date official.

It’s already been confirmed that Demon Slayer season 2 will be airing on Funimation in its English-speaking regions such as the UK, US and Australia.

And if you haven’t caught up on Demon Slayer – but are interested in seeing what all the fuss is about – then now is the perfect time to do so.

Funimation not only has every episode from the first series of Demon Slayer, but also the record breaking Mugen Train movie.

The Demon Slayer movie was released in UK cinemas earlier this year, and arrived in Blighty after Mugen Train smashed box office records in Japan.

Mugen Train is the most successful box office movie in Japan ever, grossing over $360million in the region.

Worldwide the Demon Slayer movie has raked in over $500million.

If you’re wondering what to expect from Demon Slayer season 2, then here’s the synopsis of the Entertainment District Arc manga: “In Taisho-era Japan, Tanjiro Kamado is a kindhearted boy who makes a living selling charcoal. But his peaceful life is shattered when a demon slaughters his entire family. His little sister Nezuko is the only survivor, but she has been transformed into a demon herself! Tanjiro sets out on a dangerous journey to find a way to return his sister to normal and destroy the demon who ruined his life.

“Tanjiro and his friends accompany the Hashira Tengen Uzui to an entertainment district where Tengen’s female ninja agents were gathering information on a demon, but suddenly disappeared. In order to investigate, Tanjiro and the others disguise themselves as women to sneak in. As they close in on their target, the demon reaches out for the courtesans of the district!”
