At first glance one could be forgiven for thinking it’s a scene from Jaws, the celebrated Steven Spielberg film about an enormous Great White shark terrorizing a small coastal community.

But the image of a menacing shark circling a paddleboard occupied by Hollywood star Orlando Bloom is in fact real, with the actor attracting its attention as he navigated Pacific waters off the coast of Malibu.

Bloom, 44, was with a friend when Carlos Gauna captured a clip of a ‘large juvenile white shark’ circling in the water below.

‘Paddle Boarding With Great Whites,’ he captioned the minute-long clip. ‘When fear becomes your friend and @themalibuartist captures the moment.’

He made sure to tag Gauna, a local photographer who found fame on social media for his incredible sunset images around Malibu, only to dive deep into the world of sharks in the last year.

‘Awesome day man,’ Carlos wrote on Orlando’s post. ‘You got some good looks of a large juvenile white shark. Happy for you! Something you’ll never forget. Very calm shark just chilling in Malibu!’

Orlando, who once paddleboarded in the nude with then-girlfriend Katy Perry, knew his way around the soft-top board – and a few fans noted that the ‘wild’ clip was reminiscent of another at-sea adventure from his past.

‘Yep we all remember the other paddle boarding picture,’ Instagram user @zowie.oz reminded the room.

Orlando recently returned from a whirlwind European vacation with fiancee Katy Perry which began in July at the amfAR gala in Capri.

Bloom and Perry first began dating in 2016 before parting ways, only to rekindle their romance in 2018.

They would announcement their engagement in early 2019 after the Pirates Of The Caribbean star popped the big question during a helicopter ride that his ladylove later called a very James Bond move.

‘We landed on a rooftop [in Los Angeles] and my whole family was there, and all my friends. He did so well,’ she confessed.
