'Divine!' Charlotte Casiraghi wore Grace Kelly’s 64-carat Cartier necklace for wedding

Charlotte Casiraghi, 35, married film producer Dimitri Rassam, 39, in a lavish wedding in the south of France in 2019. The bride had two weddings, a civil ceremony and a religious ceremony, like Grace Kelly.

Dimitri donned a navy-blue suit, a white shirt, and a light blue tie.

Charlotte’s brocade dress has been compared to the skirt suit Grace wore for her civil ceremony in 1956.

The young royal may have been influenced by her grandmother’s outfit, which featured an embroidered brocade design in an ivory-cream colour.

For the reception, however, Charlotte changed into a strapless white gown.

DON’T MISS:

Designed by Chanel, the dress had a tight bodice and its satin skirt, which had a slit in its middle, billowed a little.

Charlotte’s brunette hair was slicked back in a hairdo not unlike Grace’s famous icy blonde locks.

But the new bride’s necklace stole the show.

A Cartier piece covered in diamonds, the necklace used to belong to Grace.

It was later worn by Princess Caroline of Hanover, Grace’s eldest daughter, before being worn by Charlotte for her wedding reception.

A month after their civil ceremony, Charlotte and Dimitri celebrated their religious wedding in Provence, the south of France.

This time, Charlotte wore a white flowing dress with a sheer neckline and sleeves.

Designed by Giambattista Valli, the gown was reminiscent of the dress Princess Caroline wore when she married property developer Philippe Junot in 1978.

Phillippe was Caroline’s first husband before she married Charlotte’s father, Stefano, in 1983.

Taking to social media in June 2019, many royal fans commented on Charlotte’s reception look, when she wore the white Chanel dress and her grandmother’s diamond necklace.

Instagram user Pauline Kouyas wrote: “Divine Charlotte.”

Florence Lobono said: “Elegance, class, and beauty.”

Crona Byrne commented: “Stunning.”

Monica Arak added: “Beautiful.”
