Chelsea have reportedly been told that they must submit an offer in excess of £100million to take Declan Rice away from West Ham next summer.   

Chelsea are among clubs including Manchester United and Manchester City who are believed to be interested in signing the English holding midfielder. 

Rice has rejected two offers to extend his contract with the east London club this summer as he wants to be part of a squad who are regularly taking part in the Champions League.

According to Football London, the club are yet to receive a bid for the Englishman however £100m is the minimum offer that they would accept which would match the amount that Manchester City paid for Jack Grealish. 

The Hammers boss David Moyes is determined to keep hold of one his best players as he enters the prime of his career. 

Rice was one of England’s star performers in midfield throughout Euro 2020 which will have undoubtedly increased his price tag. 

Chelsea have been interested in signing Rice in recent seasons which was confirmed by former Chelsea manager Frank Lampard earlier this year.

He said: ‘We are fortunate to have him in England, West Ham are fortunate to have him.

‘He’s a leader and it is clear that he’s destined for great things. I have probably given it away with how I spoke about him but I think it’s common knowledge that I was a big fan of his. 

‘It didn’t happen for various reasons, but we brought in a lot of players in the summer. 

‘But I was a big fan of him. For understandable reasons, West Ham know the player that they have on their hands.’

After an extremely busy transfer window among Premier League clubs in recent months, it seems as if Rice will undoubtedly be part of a transfer saga next summer.
