Next James Bond favourites Regé-Jean Page and Tom Hardy backed by Roger Moore Bond girl

In just a couple of weeks time, Daniel Craig will star in his fifth and final James Bond movie, No Time To Die. After which, the 007 producers will begin their auditions for the next actor to take up the Licence to Kill. Speculation has been rife for the last few years and two of the bookies favourites are currently Regé-Jean Page and Tom Hardy.

Express.co.uk recently spoke with Roger Moore Bond girl Caroline Munro, who co-starred opposite the late 007 actor in 1977’s The Spy Who Loved Me.

The 72-year-old said of the next Bond: “Oh my goodness! I don’t know how they’re going to go this time.

“Daniel Craig’s going to be a very hard act to follow. I supposed whoever’s next has to be quintessentially English.”

When Bridgeton star Regé-Jean Page was mentioned as one of the favourites, he certainly received Caroline’s approval. She exclaimed: “Beautiful man!”

Caroline added: “He was totally Bond. He was really in his stride, he really got James Bond, he was great. Very charismatic and wonderful. He made a perfect Bond, he’ll always be my Bond, always. Nice, lovely man.”

The Bond girl and Hammer Horror star was promoting her new Talking Pictures TV show The Cellar Club, which airs on Friday nights. She said: “It’s very exciting because it’s such a different kind of show. To be asked to do it, I was absolutely delighted, what an honour really.”

The weekly late-night Friday event sees her introduce each classic horror movie followed by a chat with a guest afterwards, before moving on to the next film.

The Cellar Club with Caroline Munro broadcasts on Talking Pictures TV on Fridays at 9pm on Sky 328, Freesat 81, Virgin 445 and Freesat 306.
