Man Utd boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer explains Cristiano Ronaldo debut plan against Newcastle

After United’s last outing against Wolves, Solskjaer declared that he sees Ronaldo primarily as an option through the middle rather than out wide.

This could spell bad news for the likes of Mason Greenwood, whose tremendous start to the season up front saw him net in each of the first three Premier League games.

Given that Ronaldo scored 29 for Juventus in Serie A last season, the youngster will have to be content to step aside, although he can surely benefit from the Portuguese’s guidance.

United had already strengthened greatly during the summer transfer window with Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane, but the guaranteed goal threat of Ronaldo could put them right in the mix for title contention.
